S. Psalm 40:3
"He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what He has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord."
O. This verse follows the great words of the first two verses of Psalm 40, that being, the Lord can lift you and me out of the pit and put us on a rock!
God lifts us up when we are low. He works miracles in our lives. Yes, He can lift us up when we have the doldrums and plant us on a rock and put a new song in our mouth. We then receive this new song, a new direction and God does this for us - yes - , but He also does this so others will be amazed and put their trust in Him.
Isn't that something. He does it for us.. but He also does this so that other people will stand amazed at what they see and desire to put their trust in Him.
A. So today, let's commit to not put a cover over the light that God gives us or to muffle the words of the new song He puts in our mouth. Let's pursue this new direction from the Lord so that we not only will be blessed but that others will see this, desire this and put their trust in Him.
Prayer: Father, thank you for the direction, purpose, calling, - the great life that you have given me. May I be faithful in letting others see so that they may be amazed and put their trust in you.
