21 Days of Prayer - January 16, 2021 Day #14

Today’s Focus: Miracles for the Impossible

Matthew 19:26 (NIV)

26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

I believe God for healing when doctors say there’s nothing else we can do.

I am believing God to restore marriages. Against all hope we believe.

I am asking God to change hearts - for Salvation.

Rejoice that people’s names are written in the lamb’s book of life.

In the OT, Israel was outnumbered 3-1.

2 Chronicles 20:2-4 (NIV)

2 Some people came and told Jehoshaphat, “A vast army is coming against you from Edom,[b] from the other side of the Dead Sea. It is already in Hazezon Tamar” (that is, En Gedi). 3 Alarmed, Jehoshaphat resolved to inquire of the Lord, and he proclaimed a fast for all Judah. 4 The people of Judah came together to seek help from the Lord; indeed, they came from every town in Judah to seek him.

Jehoshaphat resolved to inquire of the Lord! That’s our starting point.

2 Chronicles 20:5-6 (NIV)

5 Then Jehoshaphat stood up in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem at the temple of the Lord in the front of the new courtyard 6 and said:

“Lord, the God of our ancestors, are you not the God who is in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. Power and might are in your hand, and no one can withstand you.

He starts not with the problem but with  the strength of who HE is!

Remind ourselves who God is!   Start your prayer with the character of who He is.  (Our Father who is in heaven).

Colossians 3:1

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

He can move mountains. He can change lives.

2 Chronicles 20:7 (NIV)

7 Our God, did you not drive out the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel and give it forever to the descendants of Abraham your friend?

First he talked about the character of God, next he looks at history.

Remind ourselves what God has done!

Don’t forget the miracles that God has worked in your life and if not in your life, what He has done in other’s lives. He can and will do the same in yours.

Get off the news and social media and into the Word.

2 Chronicles 20:12 (NIV)

12 Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.”

In faith, ask God to do it again.

Do you believe that God has done it before and that He can do it again?  Don’t try to figure out how, just ask “Do you believe God has done it before and He can do it again?”

21 Days of Prayer - January 15, 2021 Day #15 Focus Over The Enemy

Today’s Focus: Victory Over the Enemy

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (NIV)

3 For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

We’re in this environment, but we’re on a different level or plan.

We demolish and we take captive.

God has equipped us with weapons, like the nuclear codes of Heaven to achieve victory here on earth.

When we gather together, He’s here! He is with us. The maker of the entire universe is right here with us!   HIs presence is powerful.

We demolish the “elevated things.”  The arguments or ideas that try to build themselves above God. We demolish them. They have no place in our life as we give the Word of God primary place.

We take captive the thoughts that come into our lives that have unholy purposes to take us away from what God has for us.  To take captive means to subjugate, to take it captive and control it. We are to throw those thoughts down and bring them under control.

We have authority over the enemy.

Luke 10:19 (NIV)

19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.

There is nothing that can harm us. We have authority over everything the enemy can throw at us! Because we have this authority we have different postures. Postures of prayer, of alertness, of being ready, etc.

We have powerful weapons

2 Corinthians 10:4 (NIV)

4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.

To do any type of work, you need the right tools. God has given us the right tools.

God has given us powerful weapons (gifts). He has given us the Holy Spirit and gifted us to carry out the work that we have and to do it in a winning way.

We have work to do.

Because we have been given the victory, we are going to wage war right now and we are going to claim that victory.

The act of coming to the Lord and offering Him our worship is one of the most powerful weapons we have.

21 Days of Prayer - January 14, 2021 - Day #12

Today’s focus: Blessing Over Trouble

Prayer can get a little messy at times as the enemy brings in distractions.

But today God may be calling us to wrestle in prayer and lean into the truth of His Word. When we do, we come away changed.

Just like Jacob wrestled with God and was blessed.

Today we’re considering blessing over trouble.    Whatever is going on in the world, we are not in trouble because Jesus has taken us out of trouble and over trouble.

The Apostle Paul gave encouragement to the church in this way.

Philippians 4:19 (NIV)

And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

Our hope comes from being “in Christ Jesus”

If we are looking for blessing, we must start up with Christ Jesus.

The Philippian church knew what “supply” meant. It was more than needed. It was overflow. It will be so much more than what is needed. It overflows. That is what is available when we are “In Christ.”

The blessing is supplied according .. according means that is coming from God. It is from Heaven and is above anything that is on earth. The blessing, being sourced in God, is so far above anything.

So how do I pray today?

Make God personal. What He has, He shares with us. It becomes mine. Every blessing He has, I have - because He is “My God.” He has brought me out of trouble and over trouble.
