21 Days of Prayer - Day #7 Focus - Praying and Loving What/Who God Loves

21 Days of Prayer - Day #7 Focus -  Praying and Loving What/Who God Loves

We just don’t seek God as our celestial Santa Claus. We are here for Him, to see His agenda not ours.

Matthew 6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

WE focus first on Him.  The best way to love someone, we love who they love.

The best way to love God is to love the world, who He loves. Let’s love the ones who are lost, away from God.

21 Days of Prayer in January is our time to tithe that to God. It’s when we let God know He is first and so we commit 21 days of Prayer in the New Year to Him.

21 Days of Prayer in August is then to focus on the harvest, those who have to come to know Christ.  Many people come to know Christ in the months of September, October, November and December.  So for these last 4 months, we pray in August for those.

Today we want to be intentional to pray God’s agenda - reaching the lost.

Ask the Father to draw them to Jesus.

John 6:44 “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day.”

Bind the Spirit that blinds their minds.

2 Corinthians 4:4 (NIV) The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

What is the thing that is in the way? Whatever that spirit is that blinds their minds to be removed.

For a personal relationship with God.  Not about getting religion, but a relationship.

Romans 8:15 (NIV) 15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship.[a] And by him we cry, “Abba,[b] Father.”

For believers to cross their paths.

Matthew 9:38 (NIV) Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

We are not near some of those family members or friends. We pray that God will send out workers, others to cross their paths.

Release the spirit of wisdom and revelation.

Ephesians 1:17 (NIV) I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit[a] of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.

This is the time when someone hears and all of the sudden, the light bulb clicks on. All of the sudden it made sense.

There’s no better way to love God, then to pray for the ones He loves.

21 Days of Prayer - Day #6 Focus "Prayer Shapes Our Perspective"

21 Days of Prayer - Day #6 Focus -  Prayer Shapes Our Perspective

Seasons of prayer shape us and do in us what God desires.

Prayer shapes our perspective.

Do I pray outward (for revival) or do I pray inwardly.

“It is not the body’s posture but the heart’s attitude when I pray” Billy Graham

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 (NIV)

23 May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.

May God Himself do this work. He doesn’t outsource His work. He does this Himself.

Receive God’s peace.

The very essence of who God is, is peace.  There’s not a lot of peace in our world.

We are the people of God. We have access to God’s peace. We simply need to receive His peace. He will grant it.

Philippians 4 - The God of peace will be with us.

Rely on God’s Power.

I’m trying to become more Christlike. But I need to rely on His power for Him to form Christ in me.  This is a prayer for us to become something.

The enemy tries to shape us by one lie at a time. But when we rely upon God’s power we are strong.

Philippians 4:13; 19

The one who calls us is faithful and He will do it .. therefore I will

Rest in God’s Promise

As we seek Him, our tension is outward or inward, it’s upward. We are seeking God for everything. I am resting in His promises. I am relaxed and confident in Him.

21 Days of Prayer - Day 5 Focus "The Persons of Prayer"

21 Days of Prayer - Day #5 Focus -  The Persons of Prayer

When we pray, we are talking to a person. There is a person behind that.

We are having a conversation with a person.  Each of those people (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) we relate to these in a different way. All three have a different role.

2 Corinthians 13:14 (NIV) 14 May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

The Grace of Jesus

The order is important. It starts with Jesus.  He’s the one who made the way. He’s the mediator.

Jesus is the mediator, the advocate of our prayers.  When we pray, Jesus hears those prayers and assists them in delivering them to the Father.

Hebrews 4:15-16 (NIV)

15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. 16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Jesus knows what we experience. He knows and understands. There’s nothing you will bring to Jesus that He does not understand.  So we always begin with the cross.

So we can come with boldness and thank Jesus for what He has done.

The Love of the Father

You won’t ever have a message to give to the Father unless you believe your Father is FOR you.

Some people have a distorted view of the Father because of experiences here on earth. But our Heavenly Father is a Good Father. He loves us so much and He has given us the greatest gift in Jesus. He wants to bless you. He wants to extend HIs favor.

Ephesians 3:14 (NIV)  14 For this reason I kneel before the Father.

Kneeling is a place of safety.  We need to see God as being for us. He so loves us!

The Fellowship of the Holy Spirit.

Koinonia -a communion or closeness. He never leaves us. Paraklatis - He walks alongside us.

John 14:16-17 (NIV) 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be[a] in you.

He is there with us and helps us. If we pick up one end of the log he picks up the other.

So after we come into the presence of the Father and  pray to Jesus to deliver our prayers before the Father, We have the Holy Spirit to walk along with us the rest of the day to do even greater things in our life.

Thank you Jesus for making a way.

Thank you Father for being for us and loving us. Because of this I know I can come close to you as a place of safety and that you lovingly protect me.

Holy Spirit I know you are with me. I want you every day to fill me and guide me to becoming more and more like Jesus.

Thank you Lord for your completeness. In Jesus’ name!
