21 Days of Prayer - Day#19, January 27, 2022 Praying For the Next Generation

Day 19, Thursday, January 27, 2022

Prayer Focus: Faith for a Generation

Psalm 127:3 (NLT) Children are a gift from the Lord;  they are a reward from him.

Seeing the next generation not just attend the church but to be excited about Jesus and their church.  That is so exciting!

It’s fun to see our BLC Kids check in on Sunday. They are raising a generation.

I can’t wait to see how God leads us as we also pray for our student and youth ministry.

I can’t wait to see how God will lead us to someday begin a college and career ministry.

We want to cover the next generation in prayer and believe they are in God’s hands. We want to raise them up.

Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.  This is true of the next generation. Greater is He that is in the next generation than he that is in the world.

1 Timothy 4:12 (NIV) 12 Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.

How do we pray for the next generation? We will pray in these ways for our next generation:

1. Grow in their character.

Sunday morning is great. Youth nights are great.  But I pray that we will see a rise in small groups for our youth where they can drill down deeper in their spiritual life.

1 Timothy 4:14 (NIV) 14 Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you.

2. Grow in their charisma.

I think Growth Track is good for our teens. It’s not just for adults. This is a great opportunity for our teens to explore what God has for them.

We have our GT on Monday, February 7, 2022

1 Timothy 4:16 (NIV) 16 Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.

3. Grow in their calling.

Pray that our youth will grow in understanding the calling that God may have on them.

Pray that they will truly discover their purpose and begin serving!

When we pray for the next generation, God is going to move!

21 Days of Prayer, Day #18 January 26, 2022 Praying For the Church

Day 18, Wednesday, January 26, 2022

Prayer Focus: Faith for the Church

Nothing greater than to be able to pray for the Church.

Matthew 16:16-18 (NKJ) 16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”  17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. 18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not [a]prevail against it.

Jesus sets in motion that He plans on building His church and His church is a prevailing church.

Jesus said it .. it cannot be reversed, silenced, canceled, defeated, destroyed..I will build my church Jesus said.

The church is not perfect, but it’s Jesus’ church. It’s His personal project and it will prevail.

We have the wonderful joy and privilege to pray for the church.

The Apostle Paul prayed for the church

1. Prayer for love to abound  (Phil. 1:9)

2. Prayer for wisdom. (Eph. 1:16-17)

3. Prayer for strength (Eph.3:14-16)

4. Prayer for discernment (Col. 1:9-10).

5. Prayer for freedom and holiness. (2 Thess. 1:11)

6. Prayer for protection (2 Thess. 3:1-2)

It’s a gospel church. It’s a glorious church.  The Lord is not coming back for a struggling-barely making it church. He’s coming back for a glorious church without spot or wrinkle.

Ephesians 5:27 (NIV) 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.

So today we pray for the Big “C” church (the universal body of Christ church).

21 Days of Prayer - Day #17, January 25, 2022 Pray for World Evangelism

Day 17, Tuesday, January 25, 2022

Prayer Focus: Prayer for Others (intercessors)

Faith For World Evangelism

Taking what God has done in and for us, praying that for others.

1. God desires everyone to be saved.

John 3:16 (NIV) 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

God loves you. God loves us (the church) and God loves them (those who are yet to come)

2. God has a plan to reach the world.

Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV) 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

God’s plan is you, me … it’s us!

The Great Commission.. It’s a CO-MISSION.. We are on mission with God.

What’s happening in us needs to go out now through us. We are all “street evangelists.”

When we do this, Jesus has promised that “He will be with us.”

3. God’s plan is in our hands.

Matthew 24:14 (NIV) 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

2 Peter 3:8-13 (NIV)

8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare.[a]

11 Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives 12 as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming.[b] That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. 13 But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.

How we live our lives is the speed of how God will reach others.

We are on mission with and for God!
