21 Days of Prayer - Day 9 - Monday,  August 15, 2022  Praying From a Place of Victory

Psalm 20:4-9

May he give you the desire of your heart  and make all your plans succeed.

5 May we shout for joy over your victory  and lift up our banners in the name of our God.  May the Lord grant all your requests. 6 Now this I know:   The Lord gives victory to his anointed. He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary  with the victorious power of his right hand. 7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses,   but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. 8 They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm. 9 Lord, give victory to the king!   Answer us when we call!

Praying From A Place of Victory

No one really likes to lose. The feeling that we can win begins with preparation and mindset that “my God can bring me through.”

How to pray from a place of victory.

Remember Who He is.

Philippians 2:9-11 (NLT)

Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor  and gave him the name above all other names, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue declares that Jesus Christ is Lord,  to the glory of God the Father. He is king of kings, lord of Lords, every thing will bow down before His name.

Remember What He Has done.

Remember what He’s done for you, He’ll do it for someone else. If He’s done it before, He’ll do it again.

Psalm 77:11 (NIV) I will remember the deeds of the Lord;  yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago.

Remember He’s always come through. He is our Banner of Victory. I thank Him for all that He has done.

Remember What He Says He’ll Do

Pray scripture over your lives (see page 21 in our prayer guide).

Pray scripture over your marriage, your wife, your kids, your job and other relationships. Pray scripture over each of these areas.. It will change who they are.

Hebrews 13:5 (NIV) 5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you;  never will I forsake you.”

He will never leave us or leave us without. He’s faithful!

James 4:8 (NIV) 8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

If we draw near to HIm, He’ll draw near to us!

Deuteronomy. 20:4 (NIV) 4 For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.”

So today, let’s pray from a place of victory.

21 Days of Prayer - Day #7 August 13, 2022 The Prayer of Jabez

Prayer of Jabez - 1 Chronicles 4:10 (NIV)

Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.

Jabez’ name means “pain”.

He prayed for those 4 things so that he would be free from pain.

There’s another solution to pain and that is something bigger than your pain.

If you  get that singing in your heart, you will be surprised at how small the pain becomes.

Pray for Blessing.

Selah. To push you further than you  could normally go. God will take you further when you can’t go any further.

Genesis 12:2 (NLT)

“I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great,  and you will be a blessing.[a]

So we pray “God, give me more than I need.”  Not just for my needs, but pray for more. You cannot give that which you do not have. More love, more faith, more encouragement, more materialism so I can bless people in that way.

Pray God to enlarge my influence.  This is what you do with your blessing.

WE pray for influence. Let the borders of my personal life be bigger than my personal life. We are to impact the world around us.

Isaiah 54:1-3 (NIV)

“Sing, barren woman,     you who never bore a child; burst into song, shout for joy,  you who were never in labor;  because more are the children of the desolate woman  than of her who has a husband,” says the Lord. “Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords,  strengthen your stakes.3 For you will spread out to the right and to the left;  your descendants will dispossess nations. Even though you don’t think you can influence people, pray to God that He will enlarge your influence so much, you will bless others, many, and nations.

Pray for presence.

I need God’s hand upon me because of the great influence He has given us. We need His hand upon us.

Acts 11:21 (NIV)

21 The Lord’s hand was with them, and a great number of people believed and turned to the Lord.

Pray for protection.

We will need protection from the evil one who will not want us to have all of this.

And if we have all of these things, our pain will be minimal compared to the vastness and greatness of what God has in store for us.

21 Days of Prayer - Day #6, August 12, 2022 Exchanging Our Burdens For His Care

Day 6 - Friday,  August 12, 2022  Exchanging Our Burdens For His Care

Psalm 55:22 (ESV) Cast your burden on the Lord,  and he will sustain you;

he will never permit  the righteous to be moved.

Thinking and sensing the weight that many people carry.  Many of us need a breakthrough for what we carry.

Prayer is many things: intimacy, communication, intercession, warfare and also a place of exchange.

It is like we have suitcases that are full of burdens that we accumulate and we carry them along with us.

We are carrying weight we don’t let go of.

But we can remove our burdens to Him for His care.  We can exchange the weight that we are carrying for peace, joy, faith and confidence. Prayer is a place of exchange.

There’s one action piece we can tap into and that is to cast those cares upon Him.

Like fishing, we cast or throw out bait. For prayer, we throw out burdens, but the problem is, we keep reeling them back in.

Biblical casting is more like hurling or flinging. Like throwing a discus. There is no string attached and it is gone forever.  We can let go of that weight, leaving it with Him and it will not be with us any more.

So no matter our situation, we must acknowledge that we need to put our burdens in  God’s hands. We need to throw it to Him and leave it.  We must no longer keep reeling back in these burdens and letting them stack up.

Jesus shared this truth in Matthew 11:28-30 (MSG)

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
